Get Out the Vote 2008!!

The Become a LIFETIME Voter project of 2008 was a pilot project to strengthen our numbers and your voice in our community. Voting is at the heart of the values we share - equality and democracy - and is the first step toward building a stronger community voice for economic security and educational opportunities for all of our families. By knocking on doors, phone calling into the night, and hosting several voter information sessions, we successfully mobilized families to get out to the polls! In total, we made 1,267 contacts, including 175 new registered voters, 283 pledges to support ladders of opportunity for low-income families, 409 phone conversations, and the distribution of over 400 voter information packets to people at their doors.

We dedicated lots of staff time and are grateful to the many volunteers that came out for the project. Now it’s time to hold our policymakers accountable for the decisions they make on behalf of our communities.
