Presenters Hilda Chan, and Ed Barnes

Hilda Chan - is a second-year law student at Berkeley Law and law clerk at the East Bay Community Law Center. Since January 2006, Hilda has volunteered with a SPIN, a grassroots advocacy organization in San Diego for families on welfare, where she plans to work after law school. She has worked in several sushi restaurants, does Jiu Jitsu, and speaks intermediate Cantonese.

Ed Barnes - has supervised law students working on welfare issues at the Law Center since 1998. He has also been an administrative law judge, an attorney on the Navajo reservation, and a Peace Corps volunteer in Sierra Leone, West Africa. He spends much of his free time hiking, paddling, rafting and climbing with his son’s Boy Scout Troop.
