LIFETIME parent leaders discuss important welfare rights and higher education issues at a Parent Leadership Committee Meeting

LIFETIME's Parent Leadership Committee currently consists of over 120 CalWORKs parents from key regions in California.  These parents plan and participate in leadership trainings and activities as well as develop policy recommendations and learn critical organizing, advocacy, and leadership skills.

LIFETIME parent leaders design t-shirts for upcoming budget actions

The Parent Leadership Committee meets four times a year. Twice a year LIFETIME holds three-day long Parent Leadership Summits, and twice a year LIFETIME holds day long Parent Leadership Committee Meetings. The meetings and summits are open to everyone, LIFETIME encourage parents who are new to the organization to attend these events.

In addition, LIFETIME holds Campaign Orientation Meetings for new parents to learn about our End Poverty, Not Welfare! Campaign.

Parent Leadership Committee Summits are three-day state-wide events that take place in the winter and the summer. The location of these events rotates between the Bay Area and Sacramento.

Parent Leadership Committee Meetings are one to two-day regional events take place in the Fall and Spring. The location of these meetings are in the Bay Area.

Campaign Orientation Meetings (COM) take place once a month at LIFETIME's office and teach new parents about LIFETIME and its End Poverty, Not Welfare! Campaign.
